CASE STUDY: AURELIA INSTITUTE

ENVIRONMENTAL BRANDING

OUR GOAL:

Custom Fabric
Solutions for a Visionary Aerospace Event

The TESSERAE Space Habitat Pavilion premiered at the Museum of Flight in Seattle as part of its “Home Beyond Earth” exhibit. The project is a full-scale, interactive model of Aurelia’s vision of future space habitats, designed to immerse visitors in what living in space could look like.

Moss was crucial in bringing the TESSERAE Pavilion to life by providing modular fabric systems that deliver Aurelia’s innovative design. Our fabric systems enhanced the Pavilion’s interior with clean, seamless backdrops, connecting the various components of the exhibit. This meticulous attention to visual harmony and balance reinforced the Pavilion’s aesthetic appeal.

After months of prototyping and testing multiple fabric samples, we finally found the perfect fit for their unique project. Our collaboration helped elevate the space habitat concept, using our flexible structures to create an engaging, visually dynamic environment aligned with Aurelia’s futuristic vision.

Visitors enjoyed an immersive, hands-on experience, exploring space and living through human-centered design. Each element of the Pavilion showcases cutting-edge features focused on improving the well-being of future space inhabitants.

The TESSERAE Space Habitat Pavilion opened in late 2024 and was on display for several months alongside over 50 artifacts, models, and space-flown objects that chronicle humanity’s journey in space. The exhibit provided a unique opportunity for visitors to experience Aurelia’s vision of space habitats before closing in early 2025.

Moss was excited to work on this unique project, providing innovative fabric solutions to imagine humanity’s future in space. Aurelia Institute was thrilled with the collaboration and looks forward to working with Moss on future projects.
